BRITISH CASSIS SCOOPS HIGHEST ACCOLADE AT UK’S FOOD OSCARS
British Cassis is proud to announce that is has won a 3-Star Gold rating at the 2018 Great Taste Awards, the Oscars of the food industry, which celebrate the very best in fine food and drink. The coveted 3-star or ‘exquisite’ rating is the highest accolade and is awarded to less than 3% of entries each year. They have also been nominated for the Golden Fork Awards, which if won will put them in the running for the title Supreme Champion of the world!
British Cassis stood out amongst the 12,600 entries into this year’s competition, run by the Guild of Fine Food, with only 192 producers receiving the 3-star rating. The competition’s panel of judges, from food writers, to critics and chefs, praised British Cassis’ nuanced, complex and rich blackcurrant flavours, its great acidity and length and highlighted how much they enjoyed the Herefordshire-made liqueur.
Jo Hilditch comments:
"We’re thrilled with our 3* award, what an achievement! A welcome recognition of the hard work we put in and to the quality and great taste of British Cassis."

Leafy mint and spicy blackcurrant on the nose - nuanced and complex. The acidity level is amazing. Sweet and well-balanced. Just makes you smile! Delicious and highly drinkable.
This is just heaven in a glass, capturing the prickly freshness of blackcurrants on the bush, along with their bright acidity. Perfect sweetness to bring out every nuance even of the blackcurrant leaf as you brush against the bush. Sheer brilliance.
Rich, blackcurrant notes on the nose. A rich and dark cassis.
Great colour. Really interesting nose. Fruit carries all the way through the palate, with a strong finish. Balanced, with great acidity and length. Expressive of its raw material - the whole blackcurrant bush. We really enjoyed it.
